Statewide virtual primary care

Texas is enormous. Your doctor does not need to be.

Texas has 254 counties and a well-documented shortage of primary care in most of them. Outside the major metros, a new-patient appointment can take months, and the nearest clinic may be forty minutes away in good traffic. Even inside Austin, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio, the wait is measured in weeks.

Telemedicine collapses that. Because Dr. Edwards is licensed in Texas, she can see you wherever you are physically located in the state at the time of your visit — a ranch outside Uvalde, a hotel in Midland, an apartment in Houston Heights, a dorm in Lubbock.

The scope is real primary care: acute illness, prescriptions, chronic disease management, women's health, mental health, preventive care and lab review. Same day, seven days a week, $125 flat — with BCBS of Texas and Aetna PPO in-network.

One legal note worth understanding: to be seen, you must be located in a state where she is licensed at the time of the visit. Texas is one of them, and one of twenty-four.

Labs, imaging & referrals

Blood work, scans and specialists — without booking a separate appointment for each.

A common assumption about telemedicine is that it stops at the prescription. It doesn't. Here is exactly how the parts that need a physical facility actually work.

Lab orders

Orders are sent electronically to a lab near you the same day, and you go in for the draw whenever it suits you — no appointment with us required. Results come back to Dr. Edwards, and she reviews them with you rather than leaving you to interpret a portal PDF alone.

Imaging orders

X-rays, ultrasounds and MRIs can be ordered and sent to an imaging center in your area, and the radiologist's report is reviewed in a follow-up visit. Some studies require a hands-on exam first — when that is the case, she will tell you plainly instead of ordering a scan that cannot answer the question.

Specialist referrals

When something needs a cardiologist, dermatologist, endocrinologist or surgeon, you get a referral with the clinical notes already written, so you are not re-explaining your history from scratch. Where possible she helps identify someone in your network.

Ordering authority and facility requirements vary by state, and some imaging studies require an in-person examination before they can be ordered. If a test or referral needs something this practice cannot provide, you will hear that directly — along with what to do instead.

Secure messaging

A HIPAA-compliant way to reach your doctor between visits.

Message securely, any time

Questions between appointments, prescription refills, lab results, records requests and scheduling all go through Spruce — a HIPAA-compliant messaging platform built for clinical care. No app required, and no clinical detail sitting in an ordinary text thread.

Text 830-276-2166 to start, or open the secure portal below. Messages are triaged by category so refills and records requests reach the right place instead of waiting behind everything else.

Yes. Lab orders go out electronically the same day to a facility near you, and you can go for the draw whenever it is convenient — no appointment with us needed first. Results are reviewed with you in a follow-up visit, and Dr. Edwards will explain what they mean and what changes, if any, they call for.

Usually, yes — imaging orders are sent to a center in your area and the radiologist's report is reviewed with you afterward. Some studies require a hands-on examination before they can be ordered, and in those cases you will be told directly and pointed toward local care rather than sent for a scan that cannot answer the question.

Yes, when it is warranted. You get a referral with the clinical notes already written so the specialist is not starting from zero, and where possible Dr. Edwards helps identify someone in your network. She will also tell you honestly when a specialist is not needed.
