Virtual primary care in Florida

Care that travels with you, instead of restarting every season.

Florida has two populations: people who live there year-round, and people who live there from November to April. Both run into the same problem — a primary care system sized for one, and a patient list that is partly somewhere else. New-patient appointments in Miami, Tampa, Orlando or Naples can take weeks, and a doctor in Ohio cannot prescribe for you in Boca Raton.

Dr. Edwards is licensed in Florida and in 23 other states, including the ones snowbirds travel between most: New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Connecticut, Maryland and Virginia. If your appointment lands while you are in Michigan in July and Florida in January, in most cases you can simply be seen from wherever you are.

The practice is fully virtual and genuinely primary care: acute illness, prescriptions, chronic disease management, women's health, mental health, preventive care and lab review. Same day, seven days a week, $125 flat.

That continuity is the product. One physician, one record, regardless of which state's weather you are currently standing in.

Labs, imaging & referrals

Blood work, scans and specialists — without booking a separate appointment for each.

A common assumption about telemedicine is that it stops at the prescription. It doesn't. Here is exactly how the parts that need a physical facility actually work.

Lab orders

Orders are sent electronically to a lab near you the same day, and you go in for the draw whenever it suits you — no appointment with us required. Results come back to Dr. Edwards, and she reviews them with you rather than leaving you to interpret a portal PDF alone.

Imaging orders

X-rays, ultrasounds and MRIs can be ordered and sent to an imaging center in your area, and the radiologist's report is reviewed in a follow-up visit. Some studies require a hands-on exam first — when that is the case, she will tell you plainly instead of ordering a scan that cannot answer the question.

Specialist referrals

When something needs a cardiologist, dermatologist, endocrinologist or surgeon, you get a referral with the clinical notes already written, so you are not re-explaining your history from scratch. Where possible she helps identify someone in your network.

Ordering authority and facility requirements vary by state, and some imaging studies require an in-person examination before they can be ordered. If a test or referral needs something this practice cannot provide, you will hear that directly — along with what to do instead.

Secure messaging

A HIPAA-compliant way to reach your doctor between visits.

Message securely, any time

Questions between appointments, prescription refills, lab results, records requests and scheduling all go through Spruce — a HIPAA-compliant messaging platform built for clinical care. No app required, and no clinical detail sitting in an ordinary text thread.

Text 830-276-2166 to start, or open the secure portal below. Messages are triaged by category so refills and records requests reach the right place instead of waiting behind everything else.

Florida questions, answered.

Yes. She holds an active Florida license and is licensed in 24 states overall. You must be physically located in a licensed state at the time of your visit.

Usually, yes. If both states are on her licensure list — which includes New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Connecticut, Maryland and Virginia, among others — you can be seen from either location under the same physician and the same record.

$125 flat for every visit type if self-paying, with nothing due at booking. If your plan is in-network, standard cost-sharing applies instead.

Yes — electronically, same day, to whichever pharmacy you use, including national chains and independent pharmacies.

Yes. That is a large part of who this practice serves. Continuity across states is the reason the licensure list is as broad as it is.

She will tell you plainly when something needs hands-on evaluation and help you find appropriate local care — urgent care, imaging, a specialist. Telemedicine is a good first stop, not a substitute for everything.

Yes. Lab orders go out electronically the same day to a facility near you, and you can go for the draw whenever it is convenient — no appointment with us needed first. Results are reviewed with you in a follow-up visit, and Dr. Edwards will explain what they mean and what changes, if any, they call for.

Usually, yes — imaging orders are sent to a center in your area and the radiologist's report is reviewed with you afterward. Some studies require a hands-on examination before they can be ordered, and in those cases you will be told directly and pointed toward local care rather than sent for a scan that cannot answer the question.

Yes, when it is warranted. You get a referral with the clinical notes already written so the specialist is not starting from zero, and where possible Dr. Edwards helps identify someone in your network. She will also tell you honestly when a specialist is not needed.
